Self care quotes are my go‐to when I’m feeling tired, exhausted and just ready to quit this whole home‐mum‐parenting gig.
Yes, we all have days when things get rough. Motherhood isn’t easy and it sure isn’t a smooth ride. But when all is said and done, we wouldn’t have it any other way, either.
So, it’s up to us, mums, to make the most of our days and time, and remember to nurture and renew our spirits so that we can savour the seasons of babyhood and childhood.
That’s why self care quotes are SO amazing. Reading them, reflecting on them and even, writing them down in my journal takes me not more than 5 minutes, but the simple act gives me the encouragement and intention to be calmer, more centered, more in control of who I am and what I feel.
That’s why as we get ready to kick off the Finlee and Me 30 Days, 30 Ways for Mothers: Take Care of Yourself Challenge, {join us, it’s FREE!} I want to share 25 of my favourite self‐care quotes to help encourage you when the days are tough, the nights sleepless and the weeks filled with laundry and dishes.
How to Use these Quotes:
Read them once. Then, read them again.
Copy {yes, for once, copying is perfectly fine;)} the ones that really resonate with you into a Word file on your laptop or write them down in your diary or planner.
From the ones you’ve copied down, pick 1‐2 that you really relate to and that spark a little fire inside you. You’ll know it when you read them. You’ll feel it. Memorise those 1‐2 or actually write them down on Post‐Its or index cards and place them where you can see them easily. The refrigerator and my desk are my faves.
Whenever you feel your spirits flagging, your energy levels slumping, your soul singing a tuneless song, reading and remembering these quotes will inspire you to press pause and notice the good, the bright, the happy and the life around you.
They’ll inspire you to relax a little, let go of some and embrace the messiness that makes memories of a lifetime. And that, for me, mamas is a wonderfully simple way to nurture my self when life’s too crazy to think of anything else. 😉
